Now re-outlining Part Two.

I love this song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt0tvmXG8kY&feature=related

(I don't normally listen to music while I write, and this is why.)

I haven't really been updating much, but a few things have been happening. I went to my cousin's wedding in upstate New York, which was awesome. It was really fun to see all my siblings again, although it's weird, because I saw them back in August, and usually there are much larger gaps between family reunions. Later that week, I went with my brother and older sister to Washington, D.C. for a couple days. My brother was at a conference, and my sister is a really boring travel partner who is very judgmental and goes off on tangents about stuff she doesn't know about. While I didn't have a horrible time, I would have been much better off staying in Montclair.

I'm back in Montclair now. Currently, my life consists of baby-sitting and the occasional successful writing session.

I'm in New Jersey right now. I don't really have time to post much else, as I've been working on med school applications and dealing with job searches and moving-related things.

I just figured I should give people a heads-up that I am still alive.

Moving Tomorrow

I'm moving to New Jersey tomorrow. Since I'm taking my car and I don't really believe in suitcases, I have a load of clothes and books stacked on my bed ready to be loaded.

Ten hour drive to Cleveland + seven hour drive to Montclair. Fun.

Progress: Finished Chapter 6

Total Word Count: 34,205

Number of Words Cut: 3,900

Eh. That chapter ended up adding about 400 words.

I am slowly inching towards finishing Chapter 6.

The sad things is, the first six chapters should have been the easy part.

I'm re-writing the most important scene in the book. You would think this is fun and exciting, but I'm really not happy with it, and the motivation is hard to come by.

Hunger Games "First Look"

I was pretty sure I didn't want to sit through two hours of the VMAs just to watch a two-minute trailer of The Hunger Games, and I'm glad I didn't. Denise called me about 10 minutes into it, asking if I wanted to go to Denny's. I was hungry, and I figured the trailer would probably be up online later tonight, so I said "yes."

We ate, then came back to catch up on The Guild. After she left, I switched on the TV again--perfect timing.

My reaction:

It's not bad, but it's pretty generic. (It's also not really a trailer. It's just a few shots of Jennifer Lawrence running through the woods.) I would have been pissed if I had to sit through two hours of VMAs just to watch it.

(Note: You might be asking why I was watching in the first place, if I knew it was going to be online. I'm the sort of person, who, when I look forward to something, I have a hard time focusing on other things. This is the same reason I decided to come to the last Harry Potter movie four hours early.)

You know what has a good trailer? Maggie Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races book trailer.

Normally, I think book trailers are pretty stupid. But this one's really cool.

I've never read any of Maggie Stiefvater's previous novels, mostly since paranormal romance doesn't appeal to me. I do follow Merry Sisters of Fate, though. And this book sounds interesting. (Although that may be because I'm still not a hundred percent sure what it's about.)

I've never tried to embed a video before. Let's see if this works:

Woohoo, it works!
